Purpose
Benefit Packages allow organizations to group one or more employee benefits into reusable compensation packages that can be assigned through employee contracts.
Each package defines:
-
The benefits included in the package
-
How each benefit is valued
-
Eligibility rules for each benefit
-
How the package is assigned within the organization
Using Benefit Packages helps standardize employee compensation while supporting both company-managed and employee-selected benefit programs.
💡 Benefit Packages are a prerequisite for assigning benefits in employee contracts.

Selecting the Package Category
Each Benefit Package must be configured with one assignment category.
The available categories are:
| Category | Description |
|---|---|
| Company Default | Automatically provided to all employees in the company. |
| Company Assigned | Granted by the company to specific employees based on role, performance, or status. |
| Employee Choice | Chosen by the employee, allowing them to use a set budget or select preferred options. |
Only one category should be enabled for each package.
The selected category determines how the package becomes available during employee contract management.
Managing Benefit Items
Each Benefit Package contains one or more Benefit Items.
Benefit Items define the individual benefits included in the package together with their calculation rules.
Click Add New to create a new benefit item.

Each item contains the following information:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Benefit | Benefit to be included in the package |
| Currency | Currency used for the benefit value |
| Type | Defines how the benefit value is calculated |
| Fixed Value | Fixed amount granted to the employee |
| Minimum Value | Lowest value allowed |
| Maximum Value | Highest value allowed |
Multiple benefit items can be configured within the same package.
Benefit Value Types
Benefit Packages support different value calculation methods depending on the selected Type.
Fixed
A single predefined amount is assigned to the benefit.
Example:
-
Insurance → 900 EUR
Ranged
The benefit value can vary within a predefined interval.
Example:
-
Car Allowance → Minimum 500 EUR, Maximum 950 EUR
-
Bonus → Minimum 500 EUR, Maximum 3000 EUR
💡 The available fields depend on the selected Type.
Configuring Eligibility
Eligibility determines which employees are allowed to receive each Benefit Item.
Eligibility is configured individually for each benefit by selecting the Eligibility option within the item.

The following criteria can be used:
| Criteria | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Companies | Restrict by company |
| Departments | Restrict by department |
| Areas | Restrict by organizational area |
| Functions | Restrict by job function |
| Categories | Restrict by employee category |
| Countries | Restrict by country |
If no restrictions are configured, the benefit is considered available to all employees within the package scope.
Managing Documents
The Documents tab allows supporting documentation to be associated with the Benefit Package.
Typical examples include:
- Internal benefit policies
- Legal documentation
- Employee guidelines
- Benefit provider documentation
Best Practices
- Use meaningful and standardized package names.
- Configure only one assignment category per package.
- Define value limits whenever applicable.
- Configure eligibility rules only when restrictions are required.
- Review package validity dates regularly.
- Keep supporting documentation up to date.
💡 Tip Design Benefit Packages as reusable compensation templates rather than creating packages for individual employees.
This approach improves consistency, simplifies contract management, and reduces maintenance effort across the organization.
