  • Purpose

Attributes define the specific values within each dimension that differentiate product variants.

They represent the actual options available for a given dimension, such as specific sizes, colors, or measurable characteristics.

Attributes are always associated with a dimension and provide the detailed data required to generate product variants.

Access Path

Control Center → Assortment Planning → Product Variant Categorization → Attributes

This configuration area is typically managed by system administrators or catalog managers responsible for defining variant details.

Attributes Overview

The Attributes landing page displays all configured attributes.

Each record represents a specific value linked to a product variant dimension.

The list displays the following fields:

Field Description
Name Name of the attribute
Companies Defines the organizational scope
Product Variant Dimensions Dimension associated with the attribute

Attributes may also be defined as Tenant-Wide, allowing reuse across companies.

Available Actions

From the landing page, administrators can:

  • Add Attributes – Create a new attribute
  • Open an existing attribute – View or modify its configuration
  • Refresh – Update the list view
  • Include Deleted – Display deleted records
  • Export – Export the list of attributes
  • Customize Columns – Adjust visible fields

These actions allow administrators to manage the detailed values of product variants.

Creating an Attribute

Step 1 – Open the Creation Dialog

Click Add Attributes.

A configuration window will appear.

Step 2 – Define Attribute Information

Complete the following fields:

Field Description
Name Name of the attribute (e.g., Red, Large, Cotton)
Companies Defines the scope where the attribute is available
Code Unique identifier for the attribute
Dimensions Dimension to which the attribute belongs
Unit Of Measure Unit associated with the attribute (if applicable)
Value Numerical or descriptive value of the attribute

Step 3 – Save the Attribute

Select one of the following options:

  • Save – Creates the attribute

  • Save and New – Saves and opens a new form

Once saved, the attribute becomes available for variant configuration.

How Attributes Are Used

Attributes provide the concrete values that define each variant.

They are always linked to a dimension and are used to generate combinations.

For example:

Dimension: Size

  • Attributes: S, M, L

Dimension: Color

  • Attributes: Red, Blue

Variants generated:

  • Product / S / Red
  • Product / M / Blue

Attributes may also include measurable data:

Dimension: Weight

  • Attribute: 10 kg

This allows attributes to support both categorical and quantitative variations.

Best Practices

  • Keep attribute names clear and consistent
  • Use codes for system integration and data consistency
  • Avoid duplicating attributes across dimensions
  • Ensure attributes are correctly assigned to dimensions
  • Use units of measure when attributes represent measurable values
