Overview
The Sales Budgets module allows you to define, structure, and distribute sales targets across different dimensions such as:
- Time periods
- Regions
- Sellers
Budgets are configured based on a selected Sales Exercise and can be progressively distributed from a global amount into more detailed levels.
💡 This ensures that sales targets are structured, traceable, and aligned with organizational goals.

Distribution Configuration
The system supports three distribution levels, depending on the selected model:
1. Period Distribution

The Sales Exercise defines how the total budget is split across time.
Example:
- Annual
- Monthly
- Quarterly
2. Region Distribution (Optional)

If enabled, each period can be further split across regions.

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Code | Region identifier |
| Percentage | Allocation percentage |
| Amount | Calculated or assigned value |
3. Seller Distribution (Optional)

If enabled, each region can be further distributed across sellers.
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Seller | Assigned salesperson |
| Percentage | Allocation percentage |
| Amount | Budget portion assigned |
💡 Distribution follows a hierarchy:
Total Budget → Period → Region → Seller
Key Functional Behavior
- The distribution model defines available configuration levels
- Percentages and amounts are automatically calculated and validated
- Total distribution must equal 100% at each level
-
The system tracks:
- Regions count
- Sellers count
-
Budget status controls lifecycle (e.g., Worksheet → Approved)
Best Practices
- Define the correct distribution model before configuration
- Ensure percentages always total 100%
- Start with high-level allocation (periods) before refining
- Use consistent naming for budgets (e.g., Budget 2026 – Region X)
- Validate totals after each distribution step
💡 Tip
If distribution options are not available:
Check that:
- The correct distribution model was selected during creation
- The budget is still in Worksheet status
- Required fields (Sales Exercise, Currency) are filled
