Control Center - Sales Management - Opportunity Type

Purpose

The Opportunity Type feature allows organizations to define and maintain the different categories of business opportunities managed within the Sales Management module.

Opportunity Types help classify opportunities according to their nature, making it easier to organize the sales pipeline, analyze business trends, and generate meaningful reports.

Overview

Opportunity Types provide a standardized way of classifying Sales Opportunities.

Each Opportunity Type can be associated with opportunities throughout the sales process, enabling organizations to:

  • Categorize business opportunities.
  • Improve reporting and sales analysis.
  • Segment opportunities by business area or service.
  • Standardize commercial classifications across the organization.

Typical examples include:

  • Residential Architecture
  • Commercial Architecture
  • Interior Design
  • Consultancy
  • Industrial Projects

The available Opportunity Types depend entirely on each organization's commercial model.


Opportunity Type Landing Page

The landing page displays all configured Opportunity Types.

Typical information includes:

Column Description
Name Name of the Opportunity Type.
Company Company to which the Opportunity Type belongs.

Available actions include:

  • Add Opportunity
  • Refresh
  • Include Deleted
  • Export
  • Column Selection

Selecting an Opportunity Type opens its details for editing.


Creating an Opportunity Type

Select Add to create a new Opportunity Type.

The creation dialog contains the following fields:

Field Description
Name* Unique name identifying the Opportunity Type.
Company Company that owns the Opportunity Type.

Available actions:

  • Save
  • Save and New
  • Cancel

Managing an Opportunity Type

After an Opportunity Type has been created, users can update its information whenever required.

Maintaining a consistent set of Opportunity Types helps ensure accurate opportunity classification and improves reporting across the Sales Management module.


Best Practices

  • Use clear and descriptive names that reflect the organization's commercial activities.
  • Avoid creating duplicate or overlapping Opportunity Types.
  • Keep the list concise to simplify opportunity classification.
  • Review Opportunity Types periodically to ensure they remain aligned with the organization's sales strategy.
