Travel Request – Flights
Module: Operations Management → Travel Request
The Flights tab allows users to record air travel segments associated with a Travel Request.
Each flight entered contributes to the automatic itinerary tab and overall budget calculation of the trip.
Flights can be added individually, allowing full flexibility for multi-leg travel (e.g., outbound, return, internal flights).
1. Access Path
Travel Request → Open a Request → Flights Tab
2. Purpose of the Flights Tab
The Flights section centralizes all air travel logistic details, ensuring:
- Clear documentation of each flight segment
- Proper calculation of estimated trip costs
- Accurate and automatic representation in the Itinerary
- Complete information for approvers
Each record represents one flight segment.

3. Flights List
When opening the Flights tab, users see a list of all registered flight segments for the request.
Each line displays key information such as:
- Name (auto-generated from origin → destination)
- Origin (Country / State / Airport)
- Destination (Country / State / Airport)
- Departure Date
- Arrival Date
- Estimated Cost
Users can:
- Add new flights
- Edit or delete existing ones
- Sort and filter columns
- Export the list
4. Adding a Flight
Click Add Flight to open the creation form.

4.1 Required Fields

| Departure Date | Date and time of departure |
| Arrival Date | Date and time of arrival |
| Seat Preference | User preference (e.g., N/A, aisle, window) |
| Class Preference | Travel class (e.g., economy, business) |
4.2 Optional Fields

| Estimated Cost | Expected flight cost in the Travel Request currency |

5. How Flights Affect the Itinerary
Every added flight will automatically appear in the Itinerary, where the system builds a chronological representation of the trip.

Displayed elements include:
- Departure and arrival cities
- Travel duration
- Estimated cost
- Movement arrows (origin → destination)
The Itinerary is fully system-generated and updates automatically when flights are added, edited, or removed.
6. Recommendations
- Break multi-city travel into separate flight entries.
- Ensure departure/arrival times follow a logical order to avoid itinerary inconsistencies.
- Use the Description field for special instructions or internal notes.
7. Summary
The Flights tab provides a complete and structured way to document all air travel related to a business trip.
This ensures accurate itineraries, correct cost estimation, and smoother approval processes.
