The Milestones Status configuration allows organizations to define and standardize all possible states that a project milestone can assume. These statuses help teams monitor progress, identify delays, and ensure consistent reporting across all projects.

Each record represents one milestone status that can later be assigned to milestones within project workflows.

1. Purpose of Milestone Statuses

Milestone statuses are essential for:

  • Tracking the progress of key project deliverables
  • Enhancing visibility for project managers and stakeholders
  • Standardizing milestone terminology across the organization
  • Supporting reporting tools and performance indicators
  • Identifying delays, approvals, or blockages in execution

Statuses act as markers of advancement and are used throughout the project lifecycle.


2. Milestone Status List

The list displays all milestone statuses available in the system.

Typical columns:

  • Name – Label identifying the status
  • Description – Additional explanation (optional)
  • Company – Defines scope (Tenant-Wide or specific company)

Available actions:

  • Add a new milestone status
  • Edit or delete existing statuses
  • Sort and filter by name or company
  • Export list for offline usage

3. Adding a Milestone Status

Click Add Milestone Status to open the entry form.

3.1 Required Fields

Field Description
Name The name of the milestone status. This is what users will see when selecting a status.

3.2 Optional Fields

Field Description
Company Defines whether the status is available globally (Tenant-Wide) or for a specific company only.
Description Additional notes to clarify the meaning of the status.

4. Common Milestone Status Examples

Typical milestone statuses configured in a project environment:

  • Not Started – Work on the milestone has not yet begun
  • In Progress – Work is currently underway
  • Under Review – Milestone completed but awaiting validation
  • Completed – Milestone successfully delivered
  • Delayed – Milestone overdue
  • Cancelled – Milestone no longer required

5. How Milestone Statuses Affect Project Management

Each milestone uses one status at a time, which directly impacts:
