Project Management – Manage Sprints

Overview

Sprints are time-boxed iterations used to plan, execute, and review work in an Agile or Hybrid project approach. In the Project Management module, Sprints allow teams to organize work items into short execution cycles, track progress, measure effort, and continuously improve delivery through reviews and retrospectives.

Each sprint acts as a focused container for work, goals, and team collaboration, providing visibility and control throughout the execution phase.

Access Path

Project Management → Sprints

From this page, you can:

Creating a Sprint

To create a new sprint:

  1. Click Add Sprint

  1. Complete the required fields:

    • Name – A clear identifier for the sprint (e.g., Sprint 1 – Core Setup)

    • Company – The company associated with the sprint

    • Dates – Start and end dates that define the sprint duration

    • Process – The methodology applied (e.g., Agile, Hybrid)

    • Total Expected Effort – Planned effort for the sprint (optional)

  2. Click Save or Save and New

Once created, the sprint becomes available for assigning work items.

Managing Sprint Information

Inside a sprint, you can maintain key details that define its scope and purpose:

  • Basic Information

    • Name, company, dates, and process

  • Goals

    • High-level objectives the team aims to achieve during the sprint

Keeping sprint goals up to date helps align work items with expected outcomes.

Sprint Sections and Tabs

Each sprint includes several functional areas to support execution and analysis:

Summary

Provides a quick overview of sprint health, including:

  • Overdue work items
  • Work items approaching deadlines
  • Burndown chart (when data is available)

This section offers immediate visibility into progress and risks.

Effort

Displays effort tracking information, including:

  • Total effort consumed
  • Remaining effort
  • Effort distribution by user

This helps teams compare planned versus actual effort.

Work Items

The core execution area of the sprint, where you can:

  • Add new work items directly to the sprint
  • View work items in List, Calendar, or Board views
  • Track status, dependencies, and assignments

Work items added here are automatically linked to the sprint timeline.

Reviews

Sprint reviews capture feedback and outcomes at the end (or during) a sprint.

You can:

  • Add reviews with a lead, status, and date
  • Document summaries, goals achieved, feedback, and next steps
  • Track review history over time

This supports transparency and stakeholder alignment.

Retrospectives

Retrospectives focus on continuous improvement.

For each retrospective, you can record:

  • What went well
  • What didn’t go well
  • What can be improved
  • Action items

Retrospectives help teams improve processes sprint after sprint.

Documents

Attach supporting documentation to the sprint, such as:

  • Sprint plans
  • Meeting notes
  • Deliverables
  • Reference files

Documents are stored directly within the sprint for easy access.

Sprint Lifecycle Best Practices

  • Define clear goals before starting a sprint
  • Assign realistic effort based on team capacity
  • Keep work items updated throughout execution
  • Always complete reviews and retrospectives to improve future sprints

Summary

The Manage Sprints feature provides a structured yet flexible way to plan and execute work in short iterations. By combining work items, effort tracking, reviews, and retrospectives, sprints become a central tool for delivery, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the Project Management module.
