Cost Center - Templates Details

3 min. readlast update: 11.11.2025

The Template Details screen is where you define the internal structure of each Cost Center Template.
Here, you can create, organize and configure all the items (expense categories) that make up the template.

The Name of template identifies the template in the list view and can be updated in the details screen. This field is mandatory.

Each item can have its own code, attributes and even sub-items, allowing for a fully hierarchical cost center structure.

The template is organized into a tree structure of items:

  • Parent Items: represent the main cost categories.
  • Child Items: represent subcategories under a parent item.
Column Description Notes
Name The name of all cost categories (items) Each item can be a parent or child element, forming a hierarchical structure.
Code Internal identifier for each item or sub-item. Optional but recommended.
Attributes Defines the functional behavior of each item. Multiple can be applied simultaneously.

Within each row, users can find the Add Child option to create a sub-item linked to the selected item, allowing the definition of hierarchical structures when needed.

  • Add Child -  Creates a sub-item under the selected parent item. Useful for organizing detailed hierarchies.

At the bottom of this tab, users can find:

  • Add New - Adds a new parent item at the top level of the hierarchy.
  • Expand All / Collapse All – Expands or collapses all hierarchical levels in the list. Improves visibility when working with large templates.
  • Remove - Deletes the selected item(s) from the template. Multiple items can be selected for removal at once using the checkboxes.

Deleting and Undeleting a Template

In the top-right corner of the Detail screen, the Delete button allows users to remove an entire Cost Center Template from the active list.
When deleted, the template and all its items are no longer visible by default but they are not permanently erased - the system allows you to undelete (restore) them if needed.

How to Delete a Template:

  • Click Delete in the top-right corner of the template’s Detail screen.
  • Confirm the deletion when prompted.
  • The template will be removed from the active list of templates.

⚠️ Note: Deleting a template does not remove it permanently - it can be restored later.

How to Undelete a Template:

  • Open the Cost Center Templates Management View screen.

  • Toggle the option Include Deleted: Yes to display deleted templates.
  • Select the desired template from the list.
  • Open it and click Undelete to restore the template.

Once restored, all items, codes and attributes are recovered exactly as they were before deletion.

Template Reusability

Once a template is defined:

  • It can be imported multiple times into different Cost Centers (for example, for different departments or companies).
  • During import, codes and attributes can be modified, adapting the template to specific needs.
  • However, the original template remains unchanged, ensuring the model stays consistent and reusable for future use.

Key Advantages

  • Simplifies and accelerates the creation of complex cost center structures.
  • Ensures standardization across different entities or projects.
  • Reduces human error and duplication when creating similar cost structures.
  • Maintains flexibility to customize imported data without altering the master template.
